As the Maid of the Mist approaches the Horseshoe Falls, for safety reasons it stays well back from the base of the falling sheet of water. Close enough to hear the thunder and feel the power.
The Canadian docks of the Maid of the Mist Tour Boat Company are found at the base of the Niagara Gorge at the end of Clifton Hill. Elevators wisk tourists to the base and loading platform. After donning raincoats and boarding the vessel, get ready for the experience of a life time.
In winter, the Canadian facility is utilized to drydock all the tour boats in order to prevent ice and water damage.
