The Niagara Parks Commission hosts the fireworks displays in the summer and winter seasons in Queen Victoria Park.  The David Whysall International Fireworks Company under the direction of owner David Whysall has been contracted to provide these pyrotechnic displays over Niagara Falls.

Whysall has 40 years of experience and has owned his own company for approximately 17 years. All the displays are pre-programmed and the fireworks set off electronically. With a crew of two or three persons, the fireworks are picked from a large inventory and placed into their respective firing tubes (similar to mortar tubes) raging in size from three to six inches. The launching pad is located on the Canadian side of the Niagara River shoreline at the base of the Niagara Gorge (182 feet below). Each show lasts about 4 to 6 minutes in length but the light and sound is truly awe inspiring to the thousands tourists and local citizens who witness this nightly spectacle.

Fireworks displays take place throughout the Summer (May through September) every Friday and Sunday night including any Canadian and American holiday - Whipstalls' Fireworks shows begins at 10 p.m.

Fireworks displays take place during the Festival of Lights every Friday night beginning at 9 p.m. Two displays take place on the opening night of the festival (6p.m. and 8 p.m.) and on New Years Eve (9 p.m. and midnight)

The fireworks light the sky in a kaleidoscope of colours like none other and is a must to experience.  It is FIRE OVER THE FALLS.
